What is the typically procedure in getting a prescription for birth control?

I have a doctors appointment later to get a prescription for birth control and I am very nervous. What is the rountine procedure? What kind of questions do they ask, I have heard you need a pap test beforehand, is this true? Lastly how long do I need to reframe from sex to insure I won't become pregnant? What is the typically procedure in getting a prescription for birth control?
go to a doctor, get a physical (internal), and they just ask questions like are you pregnant, are you having sex with numerous partners, blah blah blahWhat is the typically procedure in getting a prescription for birth control?
It depends on the type of birth control. The Depo shot will start working as soon as it gets into your system. The pills you should wait a month to start having sex again. They will do a pap before and also give you a pregnancy test. They will probably draw blood or prick your finger. They will ask all sorts of questions like when your last period was, how many you are having sex with right now, when was the last time you had sex, have you had sex with a female or any other type of sex other than vaginal, they will ask you all sorts of personal questions. Are you using protection. And of course, and illnesses you may have or your family history of illnesses. It is uncomfortable, but it is a have to thing. And be sure to answer them honestly. They will go over everything you need to know. They will do the pap and they will do a breast exam. There is a certain time to begin taking them, and they will let you know about all of this. If you are taking antibiotics, refrain from sex as well bc this will counter react with the birth control and could cause you to become pregnant if not using protection.
the will do a pap smear. probably a std blood test. and ask u about your protection u are using now. and then suggest the bestmethod for you. or pill for you.
