How can you control the smell of a pet mouse?

What can I do to control the smell a pet mouse puts off other than changing the cage several times a day or putting it in the garage? How can you control the smell of a pet mouse?
What kind of bedding are you currently using? Any kind of wood product, like cedar, pine, aspen, etc, are not absorbent and can smell horrible after a while. Definitely use Carefresh, it's made of recycled material, kinda like egg cartons. It's super absorbent and doesn't smell. I have a guinea pig and let me tell you, he craps ALOT and I only have to clean the cage once a week because it never smells. I have had hamsters in the past, before Carefresh existed, and I used pine shavings and it just didn't do the job. Definitely use Carefresh :)How can you control the smell of a pet mouse?
You can put baking soda under the bedding, also if you are feeding it a seed based diet or basically anything except a lab block (large pellet sold at most pet stores) then try switching, a bad diet can cause extra smell, also when you clean the cage use white vinegar and water to clean the cage and all the toys and wheels, it will destroy all the smells, definetly do not use air freshners plug in or otherwise as these can cause respiertory problems in mice and all small animals as does Cedar and Pine bedding. Another thought is invest in a larger cage that will help control the smell considerably also there is a product called biodor that you can get at most large pet store chains that neutralizes odors in waste internally. If you have a male mouse though, they just tend to be a little smellier then females or pretty much anything else but continuing to clean the cage every two to three days and trying some of these other ideas should help.
Mice are smelly little critters, this is why rats make better pet.

Give me your mouse and I'll feed it to one of my ball pythons, and go out and buy a pet rat.

I'm joking :)

Anyway there are lots of things you can do, for one make sure his enclosure is very well ventilated.

Here is a search I did and found these products that might help.

Switching to carefresh bedding might help too :)
cook loads of garlic that will overpower the smell. seriously just keep them clean chang their food, water regular, dont let a pet get wet,buy some of those airfreshners that plug in or light some scented candles.
I have chinchillas and recently switched to Care Fresh Pet Bedding and Litter. Works better than pine or anything I've tried so far in keeping the smell down.
