How do I control or eliminate Bermuda grass?

I know Bermuda grass is used in landscaping in some areas, but where I live in the West, it's an invasive weed. It is taking over my entire yard. I know it's impossible to get it out of my lawn without re-seeding, but can I get it out of my flower beds and borders?How do I control or eliminate Bermuda grass?

there is a product that will kill it,but will kill everything else at same time( round up)good old back breaking hand weeding may be the answer.
