Well I recommend eating six small meals, if you are still at school then have small breakfast in morning, small snack (like fruit salad) for recess, salad for lunch and after school have something and also for tea have something small.Does anyone have any tips on portion control and controlling hunger in between meals?
Hi!

When it comes to portion control, you can try the following and see what works for you:

1. Use smaller plates. Research indicates that people eat less when the plate is smaller.

2. Dont put the casseroles on the table. Put food on your plate and leave the casserolles out of sight.

3. Divide your plate in 4 equal sizes. 2/4 is vegetables/salads or other greens, 1/4 is rice/potatos or whatever, and 1/4 is the meat, fish, etc.

4. Before you eat, drink big glass of water and wait 30 minutes. Many confuses hunger with thirst.

I also reccomend that you add a few more meals to your day to keep your bloodshugar more stable. This will give you more energy and help control hunger between meals:) 4 or 5 meals a day is more suitable, but not huge meals. Small ones.

Good luck!
- Eat slowly and have a sip of water between each mouthful/bite

- Serve yourself less than usual

- Brush your teeth when you think you may be full to stop yourself from eating when you aren't hungry

- drink LOTS of water throughout the day

Hope this helps!
Portions should be no bigger than the palm of your hand. As for hunger between meals you can snack on fruit, nuts or yoghurt.
