How long does it take to become pregnant after birth control?

I am currently at the last few days of my period so I guess I am ovulating. Me and my fiance just decided to throw away the pills and work on baby #2. I wanted to know how long does it take to become pregnant after a year on birth control? If I am on my period now and threw them away two days ago could I conceive now?How long does it take to become pregnant after birth control?
They say it can take up to a year, but with me I was on birth control at 17 until my hubby and I got married when I was 20. It only took 4 months to get pregnant after stopping. I havent been on birthcontrol since then and our daughter is now 3, 4 next month. We have been trying for almost a yr for the next one and at wits end. Good luck! How long does it take to become pregnant after birth control?
First off, just because you are having a period does not mean that you are ovulating.

If you want to determine when and if you are ovulating you need to chart your BBT, cervical mucus and cervical position so you can time sex during your fertile window. That time frame is the two days before you ovulate and the day that you ovulate. It can take a few months after finishing your pills to go back to normal cycles, or it could happen right away, you will not know unless you chart or, surprise, end up pregnant.

Hopefully you will begin to cycle fully very soon and will be able to time sex to your benefit. Charting will let you know sooner and bring success faster.

Good luck
Theaverage is 6 months.

Good luck God bless you
You wont get pregnant untill the next period.
It depends...for me it took 3 months....Good Luck!
It can happen anytime...depends on your own body. I concieved on 'the pill'.......twice!! Then used no protection, and didn't concieve for 6 years!!

Good Luck
First off, if you are on your period now, you most likely aren't ovulating at this time. Your period comes about 2 weeks after you ovulate. Secondly, going off birth control can mess up your cycle. This has just happened to me. I had my last period on March 11, 2007. I haven't had another one since, even after taking Prometrium to jump start my period. Doctor's usually recommend waiting until you have your first period or normal cycle after going off birth control before trying to conceive, it makes it easier to determine a due date. But, there is no harm in trying to conceive right away. Good luck!
Took me 9 months to conceive, but it seemed to take like 4 months just for my body to regulate itself back together. Don't try to conceive until about 3 months after coming off, I'm not sure what BC method U used but the pills thins the uterus. Good Luck N Best Wishes!

Everythings possible I would say though that it could be soon however, it could take up to a year...........good luck
It could take up to a year after getting off birth control to get pregnant or it could happen as soon as your off it just depends on the person.
People don't normally ovulate on their period, usually 10 to 14 days after their first day of menses. Also some people conceive right away after stopping the pill, however if you don't conceive in 8 months then you should see your gyno.

Good Luck and just relax if it happened once it will happen again.
untill the + showes up on the stick.
